Torrent Silviculture was started in 2006 by Davin Green

We work primarily in the Cariboo region in the heart of British Columbia

At Torrent Silviculture, we believe in providing a solid foundation for people of all ages and experience levels. Working safely and efficiently is our top priority. We take pride in a job well done and believe that hard work and a positive environment go hand in hand. While Torrent began as a tree planting company, it has grown since 2006 to offer opportunities across the forest industry for those looking to do more than just plant trees.

Torrent Silviculture is a SAFE Certified company, and we maintain this standard through a comprehensive, all-inclusive safety program. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. All workers receive training on relevant topics at the start of the season, with ongoing training provided throughout the year. Our forepeople hold the required First Aid certifications for their crew sizes, and every crew is equipped with appropriate First Aid supplies and vehicles on site. We also follow a structured investigation process for any injuries, incidents, or near misses to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.

Our camps are designed to support proper hygiene, nutrition, and overall well-being. Each location is equipped with the necessary facilities and safety equipment to provide a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone during their stay.

Torrent Silviculture has always been, and will continue to be, a place for people of all ages and experience levels. We believe diversity is essential to learning and growth. New workers play a critical role in the future of the industry, while experienced workers bring valuable knowledge gained through years in the field. By bringing together a wide range of experience, we create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn and improve.

We strive to provide those who seek it with more stable and consistent income while still allowing time for what matters most in their lives. While silviculture has traditionally been viewed as seasonal work for students, we recognize that this path does not suit everyone. That is why since 2006, Torrent has focused on expanding opportunities beyond the planting season.

Today, Torrent Silviculture is involved in many aspects of forestry, including forest firefighting with the Ministry (often overlapping with tree planting), brushing, herbicide spraying, beetle probing, layout, slash pile burning, and most recently, small-scale logging. Through this diversified approach, we aim to offer consistent work opportunities while supporting a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
